Cornwall's Forgotten Corner
Known as Cornwall’s forgotten south east corner, the Rame Peninsula is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with a landscape of tidal creeks, sandy beaches, lush farmland and country parks. Small villages hide at the heads of creeks, waiting to be discovered, whilst the stretch of coast fronting onto Whitsand Bay offers fantastic views and great walking along the South West Coast Path.
The Maker with Rame Parish lies at the south-easterly tip of Cornwall, bordered on three sides by water; the River Lynher, River Tamar and Plymouth Sound. With the sea to the south and east, and Millbrook Lake (a tidal arm of the River Tamar) to the north, its only neighbours are the parishes of Millbrook and St John. The parishes of Maker with Rame, St John and Sheviock are collectively known as the Rame Peninsula.
